OK, probably shouldn't have bothered posting this on these forums, as I was already able to resolve the problem myself. For anyone having a similar issue, I was able to solve the problem by deleting the "SCAN" folder on the computers in question, recreating it with the exact same settings, and it works now. Judging by the wealth of posts about problems with the 3115cn's network scan, it seems this is just a glitchy machine which sometimes requires nonsensical solutions...
