I have a dell 715W all in one printer that wont print anything as I am receiving the error to replace black ink cartridge. Specifically it states "Printer will not print until the black ink cartridge is replaced. A variable amount of ink will remain in the ink cartridge".
The problem is that I have replaced the cartridge but it hasnt made any difference and I still cant print anything.
Admittedly they are not genuine Dell cartridges but I have been using them for over 12 months and have never had a problem so far so I dont know what the problem is now. Even the cartridge that I replaced I dont believe was actually empty as it was still printing fine but nevertheless I did change it with no results.
Have tried to do a clean or deep clean of the printhead but I cant even do that as the printer displays the same error message as listed above and wont print anything out.
I rang Dell techncial support and was told that I need to buy a new printer! Seems crazy to me that there is nothing I can do to fix it - does anyone else have an idea what to do without throwing this printer in the bin??
Thanks!
