Hello All,
I hope to find anyone who has had experience with any of the issues I have encountered with the Dell 5130cdn. My main issues are loose toner and smearing as well as poor density. The black toner appears to be the primary culprit in this most recent case. In past I have replaced the cyan drum when blue was falling off the page. There is little documentation aside from a simple Print Quality Issue checklist which involves verifying the media being used, adjusting the fuser and BTR to match the specific media and in some most cases cleaning the ROS sensor. All of this has been done as well as replacing every drum/toner cartridge, the fuser, transfer roller and belt assembly.
Loose toner would point to the fuser not getting hot enough, but when yellow/magenta/cyan are all printing fine without smudging and the density is perfect, the fuser temperature doesn't make sense to me. I replaced the black drum back in December 2015 only to have the loose toner issue again in February 2016. I sent the drum back and received a replacement, though I cannot confirm if that was a refurb or not. Now it is April and black toner is loose again and print density is very poor when compared to the other 3 colors. I have again replaced the drum and toner with a known good unit with no change.
Please, can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this issue?
Thanks,
RT
