I repair printers for a company so see some problems many times. mostly I find the fixes, but on this occasion, the fix is not a viable one.
I get the 2155 printers back from the store and it is peppered with waste toner which I do clean up and slowly eliminate the error messages ranging from paper jam to toner belt reaching end of life. when I check in customer menu. It tells me that its only at 40,000 odd pages. but if you reset the wbt counter , it sets the counter to 0 and stops the machine from working with the 094-911 error.
I have looked everywhere for a solution or a work around for this problem but none can be found. the problem for me is that the waste toner box was only at half life but gets disabled by doing what seems logical. This Item is very expensive at nearly £300 so replacing at "half used" because of disablement doesn't seem right. Has anyone else come across this and why is so little known about it ?
Is there a replacement counter chip attached or is it a counter on the main board. is there something I can do to reactivate the toner-box/ transfer belt which is definitely not full.
