Re: Changing 1235cn Fuser

It is not an easy task but since my machine is dead now I ripped it apart.

1)  Looking from the front you must remove the side right cover.  There are two set of wires that have to be unplugged.

2)  To remove the cover you must remove the screw next to the power cord on back.  On the bottom there are two round post that you must unhook  the cover from.  Be gentle because the plastic is flimsy.  There were no other screws to remove but it still did not just pop off, so be CAREFUL!!

3)  Once the cover is off you will need to trace the two sets of wires from the fuser.  The small wire is buried under a bunch of other small wires.  Then there is the larger wire.  It might be easier to remove the four screws from the fuser first because you could then jiggle them a little to see which wires I am talking about.  They are next to impossible to see from the back.

4) remove the four screws and pull the fuser out.  Take the right side out first then gently pull as you feed the two wires through the hole.  Presto the fuser is out.

One would think that this process would be listed somewhere but it is not.  I think it is because it is not meant to be replaced by the general public.
